Should you buy the dip in OKLO stock today?

by September 11, 2026
written by September 11, 2026

Santa Clara-headquartered Oklo Inc (OKLO) is slipping on Friday morning after the nuclear-tech company announced a massive new equity offering program.

In a press release this morning, OKLO disclosed an equity distribution agreement that enables it to issue and sell up to $1 billion worth of its common stock through a syndicate of ten major financial institutions.

The corporate filing on September 11 is adding to pressure on Oklo stock that’s now trading at roughly half the price at which it started this year (2026).

What’s driving Oklo stock lower today?

The primary reason behind OKLO shares’ decline today is a fresh $1 billion At-the-Market (ATM) equity distribution program.

The NYSE-listed firm has partnered with a syndicate of ten major financial institutions — including Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley — to sell Class A common shares from time to time

The announcement replaces a previous distribution agreement that was terminated on September 10 after OKLO efficiently exhausted its capacity, having issued nearly 18 million shares to raise about $1 billion.

While this continuous fundraising strategy guarantees that Oklo Inc remains well-capitalized, it imposes immediate share dilution on existing investors.

For short-term traders, the prospect of a recurring supply of new shares hitting the market creates an overhead ceiling on share price performance.

Is it worth buying OKLO shares at current price?

For long-term growth investors, deciding whether to buy this pullback in OKLO stock depends on your thesis regarding advanced nuclear infrastructure.

On one hand, the company remains in a pre-revenue stage, requiring massive capital expenditures to build its small modular reactors (SMRs) and commercialize fuel recycling facilities.

And dilution is an inevitable reality for pre-revenue clean energy names.

On the other hand, Oklo Inc boasts one of the strongest balance sheets in the SMR sector, backed by over $3 billion in cash reserves and liquidity.

From a technical perspective, however, OKLO sits below its major moving averages (MAs), with an RSI in the late 30s indicating intense selling pressure.

Wall Street remains bullish on Oklo Inc

Even after the year-to-date decline, Oklo stock is going for a four-digit price-to-sales (P/S) multiple, according to data from Barchart, which looks like an “unjustified premium” by any stretch of the imagination.

Crucially, insiders have predominantly unloaded company shares in the trailing 12 months – the optics of which are clearly bearish for the nuclear technology firm.

However, nuclear energy remains a core pillar for powering artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and next-generation electrical grids, positioning Oklo in a high-growth secular trend.

This is why Wall Street remains bullish on OKLO for the remainder of 2026.

The consensus rating on the company sits at Overweight currently, with the mean price target of $75 indicating potential upside of roughly 100% from here.
